Report something
On the website: select … (More) next to the item, then:
- a post or case: Report post (the … at the top of the post);
- a comment: Report comment (the … appears when you point at or tab to the comment);
- a message: Report message (the … next to the message);
- a profile: Report profile (the … next to Message, Connect and Follow);
- a group: Report group (the … at the top of the group);
- a group chat: Report group (the … at the top of the group chat in Messages);
- a marketplace listing: Report listing (the … next to Save).
In the app:
- a post or case: tap … on the post, then Report post;
- a comment: touch and hold the comment, then choose a reason;
- a message: touch and hold the message, then Report message;
- a profile: tap … on their profile, then Report profile;
- a group you've joined: tap Joined, then Report group (to report a group you haven't joined, use the website or email us);
- a group chat: tap the options button at the top of the group chat, then Report group;
- a listing: tap …, then Report listing.
Then choose a reason. If a patient could be identified, choose Patient confidentiality concern: we deal with these first. You can also email support@thedentalfeed.com. See what happens after you report.
Block someone
Choose Block (name) from the … menu on their post or profile, or from the conversation menu in Messages. They won't be able to see your profile or posts or message you, and you won't see theirs. They aren't told.
To unblock: on the website, Settings → Blocked accounts → Unblock; in the app, Profile → Settings (gear) → Privacy → Blocked accounts → Unblock.
Mute a conversation
In Messages, open the conversation menu (website: the … at the top of the conversation; app: the conversation options button, or touch and hold the conversation in your inbox) and choose Mute. You won't get notifications for it. Choose Unmute to undo. You can't mute individual members yet; block them instead if you need to.
Privacy controls
On the website go to Settings → Privacy; in the app, Profile → Settings → Privacy. You can choose:
- Who can send you connection requests;
- Show my connections on my profile;
- Show my workplace;
- Show me in "People you may know";
- Let people find me in search.
Also in Settings: Where you work (the town and postcode area used for "near you" suggestions; never shown on your profile), Notifications (switch Phone push notifications and Question of the Day on or off), and, on the website, Security → Two-factor authentication.
Clinical cases are only ever visible to verified members. For each post you choose the audience when you share it.
Download your data
On the website, go to Settings → Download your data → Download my data. You'll get a ZIP file with your account details, everything you've added, the details we keep privately (such as your date of birth and where you work), and your photos and CPD evidence. In the app, Settings → Download your data gives you the same data as a file to save or share; photos and CPD evidence come with the website download. For anything else, email privacy@thedentalfeed.com.
Delete your account
Settings → Delete account → Delete my account, on the website or in the app (Profile → Settings). Your profile is hidden straight away and the account is deleted permanently after 30 days. To change your mind within that time, sign in and choose Keep my account. Can't sign in? See how to delete your account.

Frequently asked questions
Who can see my clinical cases?
Only members whose professional registration our team has checked. Cases are never public and never appear in search engines. See the Clinical content standards.
How do I get verified?
Go to Settings → Professional verification and enter your GDC number and your name as it appears on the register (students give their student details). Our team checks the public GDC register by hand.
Does time on The Dental Feed count as CPD?
No. Reading or discussing posts isn't verifiable CPD. My CPD is a private place to keep your own records. A course counts as verifiable CPD only when its provider says it meets the GDC's requirements.
Can staff read my messages or CPD?
Staff can't see your CPD records at all. They see a message only if someone reports it, together with a few messages around it for context, or in exceptional cases where it's necessary for someone's safety or for a legal reason (one conversation, with a recorded reason, for a limited time). Every staff view is recorded.
I forgot my password.
Use Forgot password on the sign-in page.
Someone is pretending to be me or a colleague.
